”Tris de pictură” at Senso Gallery, offered by Arina Bican, Liviu Mihai and Augustin Răzvan Radu

On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, starting at 18:30, the Senso Gallery in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei 12C), hosts the opening of the group exhibition ”Tris de pictură”. This collective artistic production brings together works signed by three visual artists recently assimilated to the gallery’s portfolio, each of them displaying the personal exhibitions last year at the Senso Gallery: Liviu Mihai – Marilyn and the Pink Dog (July 13 –August 26, 2021), Arina Bican – Back to the Future (October 15 – 30, 2021), respectively Augustin Răzvan Radu – Mirrors 2.0.21 (December 7 – 30, 2021). With Ana Daniela Sultana as curator, the project is part of the exhibition program designed by Ana Ștefania Andronic (BUZU), the artistic director of the gallery and can be visited from February 22 to March 22, 2022, from Monday to Saturday, from 12.00 to 19.00.

“Three artists with special personalities, three different ways of approaching painting. Arina Bican, Liviu Mihai and Augustin Răzvan Radu in their group exhibition «Tris de pictură» offer an unique visual journey and an insight of their creative force, subtly reflecting our Zeitgeist. In this selection, the three artists share (in addition to being graduates from UNArte Bucharest) the use of the figurative register as main way of artistic expression. If, Arina Bican’s style shows a certain tendency towards hyperrealism, especially in the rendering of details, Liviu Mihai’s specificity is a predilection for a mixed technique; In both cases, however, there is a disposition for the human figure, whose traits are often blurred. Augustin Răzvan Radu’s subject of reference is the buildings and not the characters; perhaps that is why his style is characterized by a certain calm that is usually inspired by landscapes. As the chromatics only emphasize the uniqueness of each and their own temperament, it is interesting to note that we are dealing with three distinct astral signs: fire – Liviu Mihai, air – Arina Bican, earth – Augustin Răzvan Radu.” – Ana Daniela Sultana
