SENSO bazART, at its first edition

In the period 22 February – 31 March 2022, on the ground floor of the Senso Gallery in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei 12C), the first edition of the “SENSO bazART” event will be held, consisting of an exhibition-fair of decorative and applied visual arts. Dedicated to the spring season, “SENSO bazART #1” brings together graphic art works and paintings signed by  Stanca Leu, Alexandru Micloș, Ana Andronic, and Bogdana Contraș, along with decorative, ceramic, sculpture, and contemporary jewelry pieces made by Aniela Ovadiuc, Daniela Făiniș, Alina Băncilă, Dan Băncilă, Raluca Buzura, Diana Iordache, and Maria Filipescu.

At the same time, between the 22nd of February and the 22nd of March 2022, on the first floor of the Senso Gallery, the group exhibition entitled “Painting Trio” is open, bringing to the attention of the audience works created by Arina Bican, Liviu Mihai, and Augustin Răzvan Radu, in a curatorial concept proposed by Ana Daniela Sultana.

“Senso bazArt” and “Painting Trio” are two of the projects for this year’s exhibition program, created by Ana Ștefania Andronic (BUZU), Senso Gallery’s Artistic Director.

“Last year, the exhibition entitled «A March in Feminine Form», as well as in the one entitled «OSTARA», held on the occasion of the Easter holidays, were a genuine success, being, at the same time, an opportunity to present the diversity of the forms of artistic expression used by the artists who are invited or affiliated to our exhibition space, and a good exercise to recontextualize the works of the artists in the Senso Gallery portfolio. For this reason, we contemplated the idea of making a habit of organizing such thematic exhibitions and of naming them «SENSO bazART», a pretext to foster an encounter pervaded by aesthetic meaning between tradition and innovation, between visual art and applied arts and, last but not least, between creators of decorative items, artists with elaborate visual discourses, and the audience, respectively the collectors.” – Ana Daniela Sultana, curator
