The fluorescent string art exhibition “Energy Portals” of the artistic duo Fluo Webs opens on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, starting with 6:30 pm, at the Senso Gallery (Calea Victoriei no. 12C). With a curatorial text signed by Ana Sultana Cipariu, the exhibition is part of the program proposed by Ana Ștefania Andronic (BUZU), the new art director of the gallery and can be visited between April 15 and April 30, 2021.
Ioana Crăciun and Florin Stoian make up the artistic duo Fluo Webs, forming, at the same time, in everyday life, a couple who share a passion for string art. In their work, the two achieve spectacular visual effects using UV-reactive pigments to create fluorescent patterns, which they also call energy portals.
They require miles of textile thread mounted on tens of thousands of nails precisely fixed on wooden boards, according to accurate sketches and measurements. Their artistic practice involves exploring sacred geometry, especially mandalas, as well as an innovative string art technique, in which color absorbs shortwave ultraviolet rays, also known as “black lights”. In the Jungian sense, the mandala is the graphic representation of the center, respectively of the self, and the symbol is a psychic transformer of energy, with a therapeutic character.
Thus, we can look at the fluorescent canvases of the artistic duo Fluo Webs as gates of perception that transpose us into different dimensions of color and energetic vibration, but also as a therapeutic act. A real remedy for the period we are going through, in which any form of artistic expression of spiritual inspiration can help us transcend the material existence marked by restrictions, precariousness and paradigm shifts.
