The Senso Gallery invites art lovers to participate in the greatest possible number in the opening of the Decorative Arts Biennial Exhibition, a large and prestigious cultural project, organized by the Decorative Arts branch of the Visual Artists’ Union of Romania (UAP), with the support of Fildas Art Foundation through the Catena for Art program.
The opening will take place on Wednesday, November 13, at 6:00 PM, in the new space of the Gallery, located on Calea Victoriei no. 12C (the corner of Lipscani street), from the 1st floor.
The exhibition includes an impressive collection of works signed by some of the most important Romanian artists of contemporary art and aims to highlight the diversity of concepts and techniques, innovative ideas and artistic solutions found in their transposition. At the same time, it initiates a complex, interactive and productive dialogue between the public and the creators from different environments: ceramics, glass, metal, textiles and mixed media.
The opening speech of the exhibition will be given by Mrs. Georgiana Cozma, ceramic artist and general curator of the 2019 Decorative Arts Biennial.
“This edition was conceived as a bridge between generations, an intersection between conventional, unconventional, present and future, as a small incursion into the history of decorative arts. We have invited to exhibit established artists who had a major contribution through their works, marking turning points in the development of contemporary Romanian decorative arts. Along with other artists, the guests of this edition include pioneers of art schools, teachers that trained entire generations or independent artists, innovators or trendsetters. A novelty of the edition is the presence of the Textile Arts and Design department of UNArte Bucharest, students coordinated by their teachers, who exhibit a series of works through which we intuit the future trends of the textile arts”- Georgiana Cozma.
The event takes place during the 4th edition of the Decorative Arts Biennial, in which the Senso Gallery takes part, between November 6 and 30, 2019.
