DISTURBING HYPOSTASES

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, we reopen the Senso Gallery. After an imposed several months break we return at full strength, with the exhibition of the artist Ana Ștefania Andronic BUZU – DISTURBING HYPOSTASES.

Ana Andronic’s works represent bold and severe investigations in the inner and imaginary world, disturbing hypostases of self-exploration and its relations with the world. Master of the line that orders, builds, investigates, details, cumulates, outlines, isolates or approaches, as the case may be, the young artist seems to follow the famous ancient thought, Know Thyself!.

Deep, unmoving, despite calm, seemingly benign utterances, intense pink, or other pure colors she uses for some of her work — yellow, light green, transparent purple — self-exploration is associated in the works signed by Buzu with the knowledge, through seen but little frequented ways, of the fellows and of the world.

The artist often uses the sphere as a whole form. Attacked from the inside or from the outside, it breaks into significant fragments, which can be abstract or figurative, but in a continuous metamorphosis, like a cosmic wind. The sensation induced by this motion vector is of an unstoppable force, and the temporary stop causes feelings of anxiety, even insecurity.

In other works there is an obvious preference for childhood, for phytomorphic elements, for an apparent state of grace. Although such elements could build angelic images – sometimes the artist even draws wings – inserts, backstage, broken planes, randomly joined elements seem to be obstacles or even threats, which the inner eye intuits, despite the age of the characters represented with repeatable accuracy.

Senso Gallery is a private space designed to present, stimulate and promote contemporary art. Located in an accessible central area, the Senso Gallery regularly organizes exhibitions accompanied by high-quality promotional materials.

In its generous spaces, its intention is to stimulate quality, originality, novelty, aesthetic relevance – especially through young artists’ works, regardless of the field of visual arts in which they work – although it falls, at the same time, into the typology of portfolio galleries. In this double hypostasis, it proposes, confirms or can contribute to the imposition of values, stimulates the activity of collecting and increases the dynamism of the Romanian art market.

The access of emerging or established artists, in personal or group exhibitions, in events structured on themes or fields, is free, democratic and stimulating. Sponsored by the Fildas Art Foundation and the Catena for Arts program, the curatorial projects of this gallery impose as conditions of selection and promotion only the quality and authenticity of the artistic expression. Hence the prospective purpose of the gallery, but also its formative quality, knowing that in the approach of current art are necessary accommodation, information, empathy and the absence of any form of doctrinal radicalism.
