Double exhibition at Senso Gallery in Bucharest

On Friday, October 15th, 2021, starting with 18:30, the Senso Gallery in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei 12C) shall debut two exhibitions: on the upper floor – the personal collection titled “Back to the Future” of Bican Arina, and on the ground floor – “Poking one’s self-love”, Andreia Morar’s crypto art exhibition. With Ana Daniela Sultana as curator, the two projects are part of the exhibition program designed by Ana Ștefania Andronic (BUZU), Art Director of Senso Gallery, and can be visited from October 15th to October 30th, 2021, from Monday to Saturday, between 12.00 and 19.00.

“Such as the protagonist in Zemeckis’s cult film – “Back to the Future”, characters from the works gathered in the personal exhibition of Arina Bican, with the same name, travel into the past, being transposed into the magical world of childhood, populated by dinosaurs, mermaids and rhinoceros. Unlike the American teenager, however, these characters use virtual reality as their time machine. Approaching painting as the main medium of artistic expression, Arina Bican proposes a visual exploration based on the following premise: we live in the future and not in the present; what if we could live again in the past, to change the present?

“Back to the Future” is Arina Bican’s first solo show at Senso Gallery, with the artist entering the gallery’s portfolio this year, after her participation in the collective effort called “OSTARA” this spring, held at the gallery’s upper floor. (Ana Daniela Sultana, curator)

Andreia Morar’s personal debut exhibition “Poking one’s self-love” brings an eclectic selection of digital print works to the public’s attention, which possess strong color, recalling the momentum of crypto art at the beginning of the year.
