SENSO Gallery hosted, between July 19th and September 30th , 2016, the collective painting and sculpture exhibition – “Summer Art Fair”.
Large-scale, involving artists from several generations, already installed in the consecration field or just aspiring to it, with different conceptual and stylistic options, the manifestation prevailed by diversity, originality and quality. The paintings, graphics or objects developed by Alma Redlinger, Viorica Iacob, Zamfir Dumitrescu, Dan Constantinescu, Ana Ruxandra Ilfoveanu, Aurel Patrascu, Eduard Duldner, Doina Reghis – Ionescu, Edith Torony, Aurel Contras, Pavel Bucur, Ana-Zoe Pop and Cristian Pentelescu were on display.
“Senso Gallery aims to organise in July and August each year – these are months off, when people want to escape from the heat of the Capital City – a manifestation that would capture the attention of those who have left, but also those who visit Bucharest, keeping them within the gallery for a while: Summer Art Fair.
The exhibition responds to the increasing interest for painting, graphics and sculpture in our country nowadays and gathers together artists which Senso Gallery has recently promoted through personal or group events, through the display of recent pieces in his own shop, through books, catalogues, posters, banners, etc.
The Summer Art Fair is an experiment exhibition, a section – subjective of course – with contemporary art in Romania and an invitation to the joy of contemplation that is, alongside the reading of books (the decision when we all followed, at the right time, the recommendations of the chronicler Miron Costin), a much delighting tediousness.
Summer Art Fair is an insight into various fields of visual arts in Romania, an invitation to see quality works and the possibility (which should not be missed) to acquire them” – Doina Pauleanu PhD, art critic and manager of Constanta Art Museum.
This event was conducted with the support of Catena Group, through Catena for Art Program, and the Fildas Art Foundation.
