The opening of the exhibition On the Top of my Lungs by Buzu will take place on November 13th, at 18:30, and will be showcased within the Senso Gallery (Calea Victoriei 12C, ground floor), with the help of the AlegRo foundation and in collaboration with Galeria fără Nume (Unnamed Gallery). The exhibition is curated by Ana Daniela Sultana. This event is sponsored by the BCR program, George – smart banking.
The artistic universe of Ana Ștefania Andronic (Buzu) includes fascinating characters, some of which are in disturbing moments, such as those referred to by the late art critic and historian, Doina Păuleanu , in probably one of her last expositional texts, dedicated to Buzu, which took place earlier this year at the Senso Gallery. While so far her works were mostly populated by imaginary beings, in his exhibition entitled “At the Top of my Lungs” at NAG 2021, Buzu comes forth with an extremely personal approach and a series of portraits inspired by real-life people, patients with pulmonary disease, which she had the opportunity to meet after a post-Covid experience at a hospital in Bucharest. The medical stories are woven into the portrait of this exhibition selection in a color and graphic style characteristic of the artistic practice of Buzu, inspired by the famous creations of her father, by comic books, video gaming and lowbrow art. The exhibition can be viewed live on Instagram and Facebook, on the day of the opening. The virtual tour can be viewed on the gallery’s website, www.galeriasenso.ro , after November 14th.
