“JUST IMAGINE”, a fascinating incursion beyond the limits of reality

The painting exhibition of the artist Oana Maria Cajal, “JUST IMAGINE”, held between September 8th and October 3rd, 2015, is perhaps the most effervescent of those hosted by SENSO Gallery so far

The well-known playwriter, awarded by UNITE, Oana Maria Cajal has become a well-known and appreciated plastic artist lately. After many theatre plays have been staged on the American continent and she created movie scripts in Montréal, where she has been living for more than 20 years, she has turned her attention to painting and drawing, counting 6 personal exhibitions and releases of novel art albums:  “Suddenly, quite recently, I realised I did not have enough time for how much I had to say. I started to paint again. Images are faster than words! I’ve been dying  to painting life in all its appearances: beauty, despair, divinity, fright, calm, darkness, light … I paint to incite you to celebrate life!

Oana Maria Cajal is a member of the Associations New Dramatists and Dramatists Guild of America in New York and Playwrights Workshop Montréal, Playwrights Guild of Canada, the Union of Writers in Romania, UCIN and UNITER.

Her impressive business card in the world of theatre and performing arts, in the world of visual artists made it possible for her to be invited in May 2015 with a personal exhibition at the art gallery of the famous At MaMa Theatre in New York. Oana Maria Cajal dedicated that exhibition to Ellen Stewart, founding director of La MaMa Theater, a distinguished personality of American and world theatre.

After the exposition in La MaMa Gallery, Oana Maria Cajal’s posters were exhibited in Auditorium Hall ICR New York. “POSTERS FOR UNWRITTEN PLAYS” book-album, published in three languages by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest, was then released at BookExpo America 2015.

This event was conducted with the support of Catena Group, through Catena for Art Program, and the Fildas Art Foundation.
