From March 11 to April 15, 2021, on the ground floor of the Senso Gallery (Calea Victoriei no. 12C), you can visit the personal exhibition of illustration and isometric graphics “Between four walls” by the artist Cătălin Gospodin. Accompanied by a curatorial text signed by Ana Sultana Cipariu, the selection includes 15 recent works by the graphic designer and is part of the exhibition program proposed by Ana Ștefania Andronic (BUZU), the new Art Director of the gallery.
„Cătălin Gospodin has been active in the field of gaming for 15 years, his artistic activity being at the intersection between illustration and isometric graphics, following two distinct trajectories: on one hand, he dedicates his time to digital graphics and, on the other hand, to graphics made with ink and a Japanese brush.
The 15 works in the “Between four walls” exhibition, designed by the artist in the style of gaming isometry, lead us through different dungeons populated by octopuses, skulls and human skeletons.
His style is specific for the underground aesthetics of Lowbrow Art and, surprisingly, at a time of boom in NFTs and crypto-art creation, the artist starts from a digital concept, which he then transposes to analogue, on canvas, which is somewhat of a reverse order. Does this trend announce the anticipated arrival of an artistic world totally different from the current one, as predicted by certain players in the art market?” (Ana Sultana Cipariu)
The opening of the exhibition will take place on March 16, starting at 6.30 pm.
