“The Senso Gallery got its visitors accustomed to a decorative, inventive and spectacular art exhibition at the end of each year. The causes that led to this option are related to the magic of holidays and snow, the fever of shopping, the almost ritual joy that the objects exhibited trigger (in fact, as many openings to the secret lab of the artist), the ludicrous charm that creativity in pure,  ingenue and ingenious state implies. In fact, it’s an Invitation to a journey in the world of forms, which the organisers proposed to place under the spell of Baudelaire’s lyrics: Là, tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté / Luxe, calme et volupté and under the chromatic intensity of a painting called after a verse, painted by Henri Matisse in 1904, acquired by an enthusiastic Paul Signac and exhibited at the Independent’s Salon the following year (the canvas can be found today at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris,  Luxe, calme et volupté)”. – Doina Pauleanu PhD, art critic and manager of Constanta Art Museum.

“Senso Gallery is open both to personal and collective exhibitions, but also to all visual arts, styles and approaches, without showing any requirements other than quality and value, even if they are manifested on some occasions at the beginning of the journey. This new event dedicated to decorative art is a new and appropriate opportunity to introduce a significant number of artists and the objects they have created with ingenuity and boosts of fantasy that seem unstoppable. The exhibition combines, under adequate display, pieces of copper, bronze and brass, sandstone, porcelain, glazes, metal oxides and pigments, wood, optic glass, opal-like, fused and crystal, wool, cotton, silk and embroidery, made with techniques of an inexhaustible variety, ranging from specificity, tradition and experiment.

Two- or three-dimensional, figurative or abstract , monochrome, discrete or spectacularly coloured, transparent or opaque, invented or ready-made, cast, hammered, woven, stitched, burnt at varying  (but generally very high) temperatures objects – and the list can go on – depict the creative artistic availability of the artists, voluntarily locked in their creation shops for the use and enjoyment of the public.

This event is a celebratory manner through which Senso Art Gallery says good bye to the old year – 350 days have already passed! – and welcomes the new one, 2017, with joy and hope.

We bring art closer to you    –  is the motto of our gallery, on behalf of which we set out to make as representative selection as possible of authors and artworks. The exhibitions organised at Senso Gallery are part of a complex program, generously opened to everyone –Catena for Art – through which we hope to be the voice of authentic and original assumed cultural vocation!

Happy Holidays and a Better New Year!” – SENSO Art Gallery
