Starting with Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the ground floor of Senso Gallery in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei 12C) one can visit the personal exhibition of drawings, miniatures and serigraphs of artist Cela Neamțu Curated by Ana Daniela Sultana, the exhibition entitled “Thread of Creation. Drawing, Miniature, Serigraphy” is part of the exhibition program designed by Ana Ștefania Andronic (BUZU), artistic director of Senso Gallery, and remains open to the public until January 10, 2021.
«Recognized both in the country and internationally, especially for her tapestries, Cela Neamțu is a complex artist, with a path and a future that coincided with the evolution of textile art to major arts, a phenomenon due to proliferation of biennials, triennials, festivals and other events dedicated to decorative arts in recent decades. The “Thread of Creation” exhibition brings together drawings, miniatures and serigraphs, exploring the plastic universe of Cela Neamțu from the perspective of these ways of artistic expression that she addresses in addition to tapestry, which has made her famous.
The exhibition selection provides a double lecture of her works, always dependent on a symbolic and narrative thread. Symbolic because it proposes keys to interpretation for an imaginary that feeds on folkloric, mythological or biblical forms, which evokes the detachment of material, of materiality. Narrative because these works are also an immersion in an extremely meticulous creative process, which takes time and weaves visual voyages open to update or re-reading.
Therefore, through the works of Cela Neamțu we can access different plastic techniques and creative stages of an open work, which gives us the opportunity of real gifts encased in storytelling threads and, especially, in creative threads.» (Ana Daniela Sultana)
The Senso Gallery is an initiative of the entrepreneur Anca Vlad, supported by the Fildas Art Foundation and Catena pharmacies, by means of the Catena pentru Artă (Catena for Art) Program, as sponsor.
Placed in an area of interest and urban visibility, which it can enhance through its cultural offer, Senso Gallery periodically organizes exhibitions accompanied by promotional materials – catalogues edited in special technical conditions, monographic volumes, flyers, news, reports and art films that are broadcast on the online television station of the same name.
“We bring art closer to you! – this is the motto of the gallery, which we have taken upon ourselves to turn into the most representative selection of authors and works. The exhibitions shown at Senso Gallery are part of a complex program, generously open to all of us, through which we hope to manifest, in an authentic and original manner, an assumed cultural vocation! In 2021, we will continue to organize, with the same success, landmark events in the cultural landscape of Bucharest, to the extent that current times allow us” – the Senso Art Gallery, Bucharest.
