Radu Ciobanu, exhibition catalogue - 1996
The artist is in control of a universe that is defined by perpetual vitality expressed in the infinity of forms and facets of vegetation – rhythms, explosions, germination, flowers – which insinuate themselves even in the dreamlike or conceptual canvases. The common denominator of all these compositions created with laborious meticulousness and undisguised passion of plastic expression is that capacity to observe and interpret, which – as Rouault used to say, helps you “be able to store the forms and harmonies that you see every day, to get used to know them better, to end up playing with them”. With a virtuoso design which makes us think of that horror vacui of artists of other times, distributing her plastic elements in masterfully balanced rhythms, frequenting a range of colours balanced and calm, these works recommend an authentic artist whose original vision harmoniously coexists with the respect for the technical tradition.
Exhibition catalogue - 1998
Radu Ionescu: "the artist is a nostalgic soul. She is nostalgic for that nature which is pure, elegant in its sumptuousness, diverse and tonic. Perhaps this is why, in her paintings, we uncover the instinctive closeness to Art Nouveau, the exuberant times of dancing lines, half plants, half imagination, all drawn with elegance and a confident hand. Chromatic strictness and roughness acts as a reminder of her monumentalist background, and so does the generous and aerated composition, seemingly flowing unhindered through an indefinite space."
"FAMILIA" Magazine - Issue No. 5, Oradea, 1999
Aurel Chiriac: "the artist's latest works represent a good opportunity to bring into focus her particular interest towards vegetal forms as a priority, but also towards living forms belonging to the Lepidoptera order (butterflies), or to the Gasteropods' species (snails), to which she assigns symbolic meanings. Upon careful study, the artworks turned into savvily constructed plastic expressivities; they get placed on a canvas where the minutious graphics of the compositions contribute to emphasizing the feeling of order and existential stillness. The feeling of tranquillity is also boosted by the mostly calm and discreet composition of monochrome backgrounds, which help us clearly individualize the outlines".
Exhibition catalogue - 2003
Mircea Batca: "starting from natural structures, dominated by the regularly organized vegetal ones, the artist considers the motif as a secret she discovers and later recodifies, so that it loses its initial meaning, but gains the significance she wants to offer it instead. Consequently, without practising abstract painting, the artist abandons any responsibility whatsoever towards the initial motif, her works essentially suggesting a semantic issue of the chosen language, a mental reinterpretation of a "familiar landscape" data, as well as maintaining visual continuity, beyond the stylistic barrier. The composition of her works has been conceived broadly, generously, organically, following obvious or dissimulated lines of strength, which gives the painting a monumental aura, regardless of its size."
Publication „Concordii cu artiști si expoziții”, author Ioan Iovan, Timișoara, 2006, p. 245-246
Ioan Iovan: "...any of the works belonging to these cycles can be transposed into a monumental arts technique, such as mosaic or mural painting, stained glass or sgraffito, ironwork, or ceramics panel. Decorativism gives quality to colours and confidence to lines. Chromatics create environments, backgrounds of a rich functionality, somehow with a specifically fulfilled expectation for a particular type of line. Over these purposefully prepared chromatic spaces, lines draw their mellow trajectories and rhythmicity. The author initiates image digressions which are equally directed towards symmetry and asymmetry, the rhythm being the immediate compositional beneficiary. A sound knowledge of chromatic transparencies and an equally sound knowledge of linear expressiveness cause the avid esoterism of the signs to be tamed by a quiet sensitivity.
Enciclopedia artistilor romani contemporani (Romanian Artists' Encyclopaedia), Vol. 5, 2000, p. 171
Negoiță Lăptoiu: "being specialized in the secrets of monumental arts at the relevant Bucharest Academy will leave its mark on the vision and style structure, which is noticeable in the cult for formal discipline, in the refined and discreet chromatism, of precious fresco and medieval embroidery heritage, in the slender and suggestive rhythm of the motives which interfere with one another, affirming their presence in logically articulated compositions, animated by deep meanings on a universal echoes scale...the artist creates prompt and animated reliefs of a symbolic meaning and charge, so that the recent images materialize strong volumetrics in the spirit of a vision of a monumental and synthesizing vision."
